Tools for these type of days



Isn't that the truth!


Which is both comforting & terrifying.


No matter what age you are, you can have your own experiences of feeling on top of the world, and the opposite.


Which is why we all need tools to support us during BOTH of these times - here are some of our favorites:


1) Yoga of course!

Whether you're up or down, keep your body moving, your breath flowing & your mind aware of the present moment. Even a ten-second pose will enhance, or help your emotions! Check out our virtual yoga page to bring ZGY to your home, office or outdoor space when you need it.


2) Journaling, Drawing, Sketching, Painting, or any other form of artistic expression.

Let your mind unwind with a free-flow of paper-meets-pen (or brush, or crayon, etc.). No rules. No expectations. Just mind-to-hand-to-canvas. This is also a great opportunity to reflect on past entries or artwork as a way to celebrate and/or motivate.


3) Meditation on the daily.

Guided or not, meditation is a fantastic way to recharge when you're down, and rejoice when you're up! It "works best" when it's consistent (daily), but it still "works" even if it's not. Spend 5-20 minutes sitting in silence, focusing on your breath, and noticing when the mind wanders to bring it back. Again, and again. Try it alone, or even with your friends & family as a way to give & receive support. (p.s. we offer virtual guided meditations too!)


4) Sing & Dance it out!

Like nobody's watching! Why? Because it feels GREAT and it can either lift you up, or keep you up, or both! Try it for just one song and notice how you feel afterwards.

6) Serve Others.

When things are REALLY good, or when things are REALLY bad, helping others will always help you. If you are feeling blessed; share it, and watch it come back to you ten-fold. If you are feeling like there's no hope; be that hope for someone or something else, and watch how you start to see a spark of magic shift your perspective.
